The word is out that Destination Races offers the best post-race events for runners and their guests. And we know that you’ve chosen the Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon to enjoy more than just a run through scenic wine country with a couple thousand runners (and wine enthusiasts).

Join the Loudoun Road Runners for their Annual Half Marathon Training Run leading up to the 2017 Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon. Preview the finish line scenery as you look forward to your finish just weeks away. Gatorade and water will be provided along the course.
About The Loudoun Road Runners:
The Loudoun Road Runners is open to all runners and walkers no matter their abilities or goals. Our members come in many shapes and sizes, range from young to old, and include everyone from fresh beginners to seasoned ultra marathoners.
Founded in 1992, the club is a non-profit organization sanctioned by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Being part of the RRCA network of more than 2,400 clubs nationwide carries a number of membership benefits.
We meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in Leesburg, Virginia. On Saturday and Sunday mornings you’ll find us further afield at scenic points around Loudoun County. We go out rain or shine, in sleet or heat. And after each run, you’re almost guaranteed to have company for coffee, tea, or snacks.
Sign up for this service in conjunction with registration, or after registration, by navigating to myevents.active.com and logging in to your account, then click on “Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon” to edit your registration and add extra purchases. *Runners Photo ID is required to pick up your race bib and shirt. You may designate another person to pick up your race packet but a copy of YOUR photo ID will be required.

You may also still register or transfer your registration, and purchase wine glasses for race day!
Once you cross the finish line at Doukenie Winery, the celebration gets underway with the post race Wine and Music Festival! Over two dozen wineries from Loudoun County will be pouring. You’ll also find exhibitors, food truck offerings, the awards ceremony and a popular band, all in a beautiful outdoor setting at Doukenie Winery. This event is open to guests so bring your friends and family to celebrate with you.
To take part in the wine tasting, runners must pre-purchase a Schott Zwiesel wine glass during registration or through Race Extras. Up to 3 additional wine glasses may be purchased for guests. This year, the wine tasting area is open to the public and to guests of all ages.>
Wine Tasting Fee: $25 for runners (includes glass) / $30 for guests
A stub on your race bib will indicate how many wine glasses you have purchased (do not lose your race bib or ticket stub). Once you cross the finish line go to the wine glass tent to pick up your wristband and wine glass. If you purchased a glass for guests they must accompany you to receive their wine glass. Be prepared to show ID for proof of age.
Runners are encouraged to redeem a special tasting coaster at a winery booth at the festival, fill out your information and present the coaster at a participating winery for a special offer! We encourage you to visit these wineries and let them know you ran the Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon.
