Welcome Reception @ Deep Sea Tasting Room
The kickoff to race weekend begins Thursday night at The Deep Sea tasting room on Stearns Wharf, yes at the end of a pier!
The Deep Sea tasting room has panoramic ocean views and wines that benefit from the coastal climate where the grapes are grown. Whether you are a local or visitor, this is a party not to miss.

Runners Pre-Race Dinner @ Santa Ynez Inn
We’ll be just steps from the race start area in Santa Ynez at the luxurious Santa Ynez Inn for the not to be missed pre-race dinner. Join race director Matt Dockstader, race announcer Whit Raymond and special guest, acclaimed runner, philanthropist, trainer and mother of 3, Susan Loken, for an inspiring evening.
What better way to spend an evening before running 13.1 miles! This is carbo-loading the Destination Races way, with a gourmet 3-course menu to include passed antipasti, farm fresh salads, homemade pasta (meatless option), assorted breads and locally grown seasonal dessert. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

Purchase Wine Glass
Once you cross the finish line in downtown Solvang, the celebration gets underway with the post race Wine and Music Festival. The Festival is open to the public, but to take part in the wine tasting, runners and guests must purchase a wine glass.
All Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon runners are eligible to receive 1 Riedel wine glass, that must be pre-purchased during registration or through Race Extras ($20). Up to 3 additional Riedel wine glasses may be purchased for guests ($25).
There will be over 15 local wineries from the region pouring, plus food and a popular live band all in a beautiful outdoor setting. Wine Glasses will be picked up at the “Wine Glass” tent at the end of the race. Please be prepared to show photo ID when picking up your glass.
21+ only allowed in the Wine Tasting area. Wine tasting glasses are limited and sell out every year, please plan ahead and purchase early.

Santa Barbara Bus To/From Race
Buses will leave from Fess Parker’s Doubletree Inn in Santa Barbara at 5:15am and Bacara Resort & Spa at 5:30am for the start area. The return bus to Santa Barbara will leave Solvang Park for Bacara and the Doubletree at 11:30am after the race. Seats must be purchased in advance. Discounted rooms are also available at the Doubletree, Bacara, and other Santa Barbara hotels on the race’s travel web page.

Santa Ynez Valley Wine Tour
We will introduce you to some fabulous wineries at the Wine and Music Festival, but while you are in town, a wine tour should be on your agenda. We’re offering departures from the Hotel Corque for a half day wine tour.
Join fellow runners for a post race winery tour of the famed Santa Ynez Valley, with stops at three very distinctive and beautiful wineries not to be missed, including: Zaca Mesa Winery & Vineyard, Buttonwood Farm Winery, and Sunstone Winery. Enjoy light appetizers paired with the wines you’ll be tasting. Includes transportation and tasting fees. Tour Departs from the Hotel Corque. Schedule subject to change.

Finishers Party @ Fess Parker Winery & Vineyards
Celebrate your accomplishment and unwind with friends, family, and fellow race finishers out on the lawn at Fess Parker Winery, rimmed by mature oaks, perfect for a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine. Enjoy a Santa Maria style BBQ, two glasses of fabulous wine (of course!) and live music, If you’ve never been, the Fess Parker Winery is a must visit winery, and this is a party not to be missed.
