Bus Transportation

Bus transportation to the start area and back is provided from three locations in the Santa Ynez Valley: Solvang Park (finish and festival area), Santa Ynez Valley High School, and the Marriott in Buellton (for hotel guests only). Parking is available in downtown Solvang and at the main parking lot at the High School for those taking the bus. Please arrive early for bus transportation to avoid lines. If the last bus is full then you must drive to the start and park, or be dropped off. See the bus schedule below.

From the Santa Barbara area, charter buses will run to and from the Fess Parker Doubletree Hotel in Santa Barbara and the Bacara Resort & Spa. Runners must pre-purchase passes to secure a space on the Santa Barbara buses during Registration or by adding Race Extras to an existing registration.

IMPORTANT: Arrive early to avoid long lines and full buses. If the last scheduled bus is full, you will need to drive and park near the start area, or be dropped off.

Relay participants who begin at the start line will receive their medal and goodie bag at the relay transition area. There will be buses available to transport you to the finish area to retrieve personal belongings from bag check and to partake in the post-race Wine & Music Festival.

RUNNER PARKING

Runners may park near the start line in Santa Ynez or the finish line in downtown Solvang. Reserved runner parking is available at Santa Ynez Valley High School. Shuttles will run from the High School to the start line every 15 minutes from 5:30-6:30am. Limited parking is also available in downtown Santa Ynez near the start line. Arrive from Hwy 246 and use Edison St. to access the start line parking lots.

Parking is also available in Los Olivos and Downtown Solvang. Shuttles will take runners from Downtown Solvang to the start line and to the relay transition point. See reverse side for shuttle information.


RUNNER DROP OFF

If you are being dropped off at the start line, use Hwy 246 to Meadowvale Rd. to reach the start area. Follow instructions from CHP officers and parking attendants.

IMPORTANT: There is no parking or driving along the course route during the race. Due to runner and vehicle safety, access to Ballard Canyon is closed during the race (7:20am to 10:20am). Do not attempt to drive into Ballard Canyon.

Spectator Viewing

There are 3 primary areas to view the race.

1) The start in downtown Santa Ynez. Grab a cup of coffee and breakfast at the local coffee house or restaurant (Longhorn) on Sagunto St. and then watch the runners make their way through the start structure onto Edison then Tivola onto Meadowvale heading north. Park the designated event dirt parking lots off Edison.

2) Watch the runners come up Grand Ave into downtown Los Olivos. They will take a left at the flagpole and head west towards Steele Lane and then up Corkscrew Hill into Ballard Canyon. Enter Los Olivos via Hwy 154 and park along the streets on the east side of of town. You can find breakfast spots and coffee in Los Olivos too.

3) The finish on Copenhagen Drive. Join the crowd and cheer the runners on as they make they way down from Atterdag onto Copenhagen for the final sprint (or shuffle) to the finish line just before 1st St. Then greet the runners as they exit the Recovery Tent food & beverage line and enjoy the post-race Wine & Music Festival, awards ceremony and exhibitor booths.
