There is a runner drop area but absolutely NO parking at the start of the half marathon! All participants will either need to take a bus to the start or be dropped off in the Runner Drop at Domaine Carneros. There is a viewing area at mile 2 on Las Amigas Rd. and cars can be parked temporarily on the side of that road.

Spectators that wish to view the start of the race at Cuvaison must be dropped off or take a bus to the start from one of the transportation areas. Buses will be provided to Sonoma Plaza for spectators after the start of the race.

Bus Transportation

Bus transportation to the start area is provided from Sonoma and Napa. Arrive early for bus transportation to avoid lines or full buses and allow time for warm up. Buses are for runners only. NO spectators please. Buses drop on the shoulder of Duhig Rd near Domaine Carneros.

IMPORTANT: If the last bus fills up from a location then you will need to be dropped off by vehicle. There is NO parking at the start!

Please note that Team Challenge buses are not indicated here, they depart to Start Area from Team Challenge partner hotels.

Runner drop off is located in the lower parking lot of Domaine Carneros off of Duhig Rd. All cars must drop runners and keep moving due to the high volume of traffic in this congested area. There will be staff directing runners to the start line. There is NO parking at the start and there is little room for spectators. We suggest parking along Las Amigas Rd near mile two on the course.

There is absolutely NO driving or parking on the course! A limited number of viewing areas are described below under Designated Viewing Areas, and indicated on the course map.

Sonoma buses pick up on 1st St. East, one block north of Spain St. and Sonoma Plaza, site of the race finish and post-race festival. Parking is available in the Veterans Building parking lot off of 1st St. West. Limited auxiliary parking is available at Sonoma Valley High School and on side streets in Sonoma. Do not park around the plaza or on the east side of Broadway, as you will be towed.

Napa buses pick up at The Inn at the Vines Best Western located at 100 Soscol Ave. (Napa Vallejo Hwy 221) & W. Imola Ave (Hwy 121). The South Napa Marketplace shopping mall is across the street from the bus pickup.

Designated Viewing Areas

Mile 2: The intersection of Las Amigas and Duhig Road

You must access this spot from Hwy 121 to Cuttings Wharf Rd to Las Amigas Rd. Parking is located on Las Amigas Rd or at Acacia Winery; do not park on Duhig Rd. Remember, there is NO Parking at the start area and cars are not allowed on the course.

Mile 7.5 @ the intersection of Burndale Road and Highway 121

This is a very congested area due the heavy vehicle traffic and the runners crossing of Hwy 121 so if you plan to watch here, arrive early (before 7:30am). Some parking is available in Carneros Brewing Co. and Ceja winery which can be accessed off Hwy 121. You may also park near Fremont Diner (and enjoy breakfast) which is located off S. Central and Hwy 121. There is a band and water stop located here and traffic delays occur on Hwy 121.

Mile 11 @ 7th Street East and Denmark

This area is easy to access if you take East Napa St. from the Plaza over to 7th St. and park along 7th Street. Runners will be on the long stretch of Denmark just before winding their way through the path at the high school.

The final mile on Broadway

This is one of the classic finishing stretches for any runner, as the street will be filled with spectators cheering the runners as they approach the finish line in front of City Hall in Sonoma Plaza. You may view the finish from the east side of Broadway or from the horseshoe lawn in the plaza. Please do NOT watch from the road near the finish chute as vehicles will be turning left onto Napa St. from Broadway.
